Well now that you've somehow stumbled upon this page, I guess it's my job to give you some insight into the life of Alan Ring.

I was born many...many years ago in the suburbs of Cleveland Ohio where I was raised with my older sister, Mary-Lynn, in a great Christian home. At the age of 10 my family started attending the Wickliffe Vineyard and I began a relationship with God during my teenage years. During my baptism, my pastor had a word that I "would travel from place to place speaking God's word and teaching His people."

Not particularly interested in the word given to me during my baptism, I grew up desiring to be an Architect. However, I quickly realized that I might make too much money at this kind of job, and that the starving artist gig was more my speed. So my interests turned to animation and after graduating from high school, I headed to New York where I received a degree in film and animation from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

While in college, I got very involved in a college ministry called InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and spent my last two years there leading the group. After college, I tucked my degree away somewhere and spent time listening to God's call. I spent the next year interning under the Pastor of the Wickliffe Vineyard and just as that year was ending, God opened up the opportunity for me to move to Georgia and come on staff at the Vineyard Church of Augusta as Youth Pastor.

Between middle school and college, young people are forming their own beliefs and values that they will most likely hold onto for the rest of their lives. What a great opportunity it's been to be a part of that process and help guide teenagers here in the Vineyard Youth to a closer relationship with God. Time flies, and I've been on staff here for almost seven years now. It's great to be a part of what God is doing here as He's raising up a generation to love and serve Him.
